Update on Timing Chips

Overall, the “approach” in 2013 for racing timing and results systems remains unclear based on the update posted on the BRAC website earlier today.   What is clear is that the timing and results system utilized the past few years will be discontinued due to significant price increases in system materials and services.  It appears that in 2013 various independent race timing/results service vendors will provide timing chip based services or the fall back technology of high speed cameras.  Stay tuned! We will keep you posted.  Web link to BRAC update follows:

BRAC Stickers versus Membership Cards in 2013

A quick public service announcement…

Useful information is available on the Bicycle Racing Association of Colorado (BRAC) website regarding membership in 2013.  BRAC will send a small sticker for racing participants to affix to their USA Cycling racing license, rather than issue a membership card.  As well, it appears that the BRAC license # is also a thing of the past.  The USA Cycling member # is now the go to identifier.  2013_membership_sticker_photo

Second, the approach for timing chips at race events is also modified for the 2013 season.
